About the Event
Arts After 5 was established in 2015 in response to expressed needs of community residents to expand enriching activities to this underserved neighborhood at critical after school hours.
The after-school program provides weekly classes and special events all designed to teach life skills, teamwork, and improve skills in the performing and visual arts.
The Summer Musical is the culminating event of AA5 school year programs. The Summer Musical brings together the different skills of theater performance, music, dance, and visual arts through six weeks and ends with three shows. This full musical production using a licensed show is unique in the Central Florida arts community in that a cast and crew that is predominantly African-American performs for a local audience that is predominantly African-American.
